Vietnam Veterans Picnic wil be held “rain or shine” on Sunday, June 9th

NORTHWOOD – Rain or Shine, the Vietnam Veterans Picnic will be held Sunday June 9th.

The 12th annual picnic scheduled for Vietnam Veterans and families for Sunday, June 9th, Will be held no matter what the weather.

Originally planned to be located at Swensrud Park in Northwood, it will most likely have to be moved to an indoor location at the nearby Northwood fairgrounds depending on weather conditions.

Park staff are monitoring the river banks along Swensrud Park. Forecast of 50% rain for Sunday morning may prevent the set-up… and force the picnic indoors to the fairgrounds.
Signage will be posted at the park gate.

The annual Vietnam Veterans Recognition Day Picnic is hosted by local chapter 790 members. All servicemen and women who served during the Vietnam Era are invited to attend.

Local Vietnam members also host 10th annual summer picnic for “All veterans—All eras” which is scheduled for August 17th at Swensrud Park also.
