MANKATO – A man who recently moved from Chicago to Mankato is now in jail on felony charges after allegedly going on a rampage on a four year-old boy he was looking after.
According to the Mankato Free Press, felony charges of second-degree assault and domestic assault by strangulation and a gross misdemeanor charge of malicious punishment of a child have been filed against Miguel Angel Beltran, 39, who just months ago moved to Mankato from Chicago with his girlfriend, who is the boy’s mother.
The Free Press reported that ‘Beltran “just lost it” with the boy’ and slammed a love seat down on top of him and then, holding the boy by his neck and his legs, tossed him about the room. The boy had numerous bruises, red marks and scrapes on his body.
