WATERLOO – An elderly Waterloo man was beaten to death nearly two years ago, and after a long investigation, Waterloo police claim they have the man responsible.
On March 7, 2022, Waterloo Police were dispatched to Hometown Foods at 1010 Mitchell Ave. on a report of an assault. When Officers arrived, they located a male victim later identified as 71-year-old Ibrahim Lagumdzic suffering from injuries do to an assault. Lagumdzic was transported to a local hospital, but later died due to his injuries.
On January 3, 2024, Waterloo Detectives charged 50-year-old Luttreal Dwayne Allen with second-degree murder as a result of Lagumdzic’s death, which occurred several months after the assault.
Police say they an investigation is ongoing.
