MASON CITY – The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday morning for their regular weekly meeting at the courthouse.
County Engineer Mary Kelly reported that negotiations are still underway with Heartland Asphalt on a newly-paved 3 mile section of Highway B-2o that failed tests for longevity and showed “deficiencies.” Payment is still being withheld to Heartland until the issue is resolved.
A resolution that would allow golf carts on county roads passed on first reading and would face a second (final) reading next week.
An annual report from North Iowa Vocational Center was turned in recently, Supervisors Bob Amosson said. “They are doing well,” he reported. “They are not losing money, and they serve a lot of folks. The county helps support NIVC.”
The board approved he use of some courthouse basement space for new district court judges.
