Woman with record of stealing, forgery and other crimes picked up for shoplifting

MASON CITY – A Mason City woman was arrested for theft last week.

Denise Elaine Gaulke, 50, was picked up at Kohl’s Department Store, 556 Indianhead Drive, on Thursday, October 18th at about 12:10 PM by Mason City police.

Gaulke was charged with 3rd degree theft, enhanced.

Gaulke is set to appear in court on November 2nd at 8:30 AM.

According to records, Gaulke has also previously been charged with 5th degree theft in 2009, fraudulent practice in the 3rd degree in 1998, forgery in 1998, forgery in 2003, forgery in 2000, 2nd degree theft in 2005, 2nd degree theft in 2004, probation violation in 1998, possession of a controlled substance in 2003, parole violation in 2005, unauthorized use of credit cards in 2003, simple assault, and other charges.

  1. I am sure she cleaned out the Twinkies and Ho Hos section and washed them down with Kool Aid. I highly doubt there is anyone at home waiting for her. I say put her on a mouse wheel and help her melt away those pounds. It might take 10-15 years.

  2. I say sentence this fat bitch to 5 years prison and give her only water, no food. Maybe when she gets out, her weight could be down to only 350.

  3. At least 5 years in jail! It is our duty to help her, as its clear she can not help herself. 5 years behind bars may cure her.

  4. Another damn winner. Give her another chance. She has learned her lesson. People like this are the reason our prices are so high.
