Levey the Great Entertains at Grand Opening

MASON CITY – Pulling into the Mason City Auto Sales parking lot Saturday, at the corner of South Monroe and 1st Street NW, the first thing you heard was the upbeat music playing and the barbecue cooking up some Ball Park franks. There was a party going on.

Kids and adults alike were having a good time at the Grand Opening event. Levey the Great (pictured, right) was there to entertain, and that is what he did.

He was the one in charge of the music, doing DJ duty, but he was also putting on a magic show. Floating cards and fire eating were amazing the crowd.

DaLayne Germundson, owner of Mason City Auto Sales, said, “It’s been a very good day, without having any intentions of selling any cars, I’ve already sold two.”

Grace Padilla, is new to Mason City, and the first on that day to buy a car. “We were invited by Troy (Levey the Great), so we came to check it out. We’ve only been here four or five months, my husband Leslie and I. We weren’t planning on buying a car, but we decided to trade ours for a better one.”

Grace’s daughter, Danielle and granddaughter, Harmonie, age 2, were also there enjoying the entertainment. DJ, age 4, and Angel, age 6, had Levey make them balloon animals. DJ’s balloon was actually in the shape of a machine gun (see photo).

Kyle Germundson and his #69 Sports Mod racing car were there for people to check out and get a close-up look at. Some people were amazed about how little room a driver has on the inside to sit.

Germundson had prize drawings, where people just had to put their name in a jar, and they could win free gas cards, free oil changes and free Susie Q Food certificates. “We had a very good turnout, there were a lot of people that stopped by.” He was making sure everybody got full on hotdogs and that they were having a good time.
