MASON CITY – The Mason City police department is seeking assistance from the public to locate a subject on the following charges:
– Aggravated domestic assault
– Willful injury assault
– False imprisonment
– Obstruction emergency communications
One November 27th, 2011 at 5:29 am, the Mason City Police Department received a report from a female who was being treated at the emergency room for injuries she received after being allegedly assaulted by Kai Michael Smed, age 31 years.
After the assault, the victim claimed she was was not allowed to leave the residence of use a phone to call for assistance. She was treated for her injuries and released from the hospital.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. Smed is encouraged to contact the MCPD at 641-421-3001.
An arrest without disposition is not an indication of guilt.
