MASON CITY – A Minnesota man was seriously hurt – and ticketed – in a Saturday night Mason City motorcycle accident.
The Cerro Gordo county sheriff’s office says that on April 8, 2023, at approximately 10:20 PM, they responded to a single motorcycle accident in the 14000 block of 300th Street. Austin Tyler Kofstad, age 20 of Geneva, Minnesota, was traveling west on 300th street when he swerved to miss an animal in the roadway and entered the ditch.
Kofstad was transported from the scene by Mason City Fire Department EMS for serious injuries to Mercy One Hospital.
Kofstad was issued a citation for fraudulent use of registration.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Mason City Fire Department.
