Calves ‘n cantalopes: Steve King to bring his fiery message back to MC

MASON CITY – Polarizing pol Steve King is coming back to Mason City this week, and bringing his fiery rhetoric with him.

According to an email from King campaign field director John M. Johnson, Congressman King will be in Mason City Wednesday, August 13 for a town hall meeting.  Johnson, however, neglected to write the time and location of the town hall meeting in his email, and King’s website and social media pages make no reference at all to the event.

A Republican insider told NIT that King’s Mason City town hall meeting will be at the Holiday Inn Express, 3041 4th Street SW at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, August 13.  The event is presumably open to the public.

King has become a lightning rod with his divisive and poignant remarks on immigration.  He said, for example, that people crossing the southern U.S. border have calves the size of cantaloupes from lugging drugs through the desert.  His rhetoric has galvanized his supporters and detractors.

King’s opponent in the November election is Democrat Jim Mowrer.

Used to be you could travel the country and when people asked “Where ya from?”
You’d say “Iowa”
They’d respond “Oh ya, all the corn, the heartland of America”

not anymore

Now from Maine to California, from Washington to Florida, the first thing they all say is…

“Oh ya, you’re the dumbasses that keep electing Steve King to Congress”

Here is a case of the “pot” calling the “kettle” black.

And don’t forget, Speaker Boner is a RHINO.

RIHNO or Republican In Name Only.

I would say that king must have done something right to receive so much hatred.

Steve King should not be reelected.
Besides all of his other faults (more than can be listed), the guy is bat-shit crazy.

King can best be summed up by a single statement by the leader of his own party.

Speaker of the House, John Boehner(R) said that King is an asshole.
How bad is it, when your own party leader thinks you’re an asshole?

Knowledgeable Republicans around the country look at Steve King, shake their heads & wonder “What the hell is wrong with you people in Iowa?”

All of you King haters, you included Matt, tell me one thing that he has said that is not true in the context of the subject he was speaking about. You will not find anything.

Truth. Steve King would not know what that is if it dripped out of his nose. The questions that all Iowans need to be asking him is why? Why is the united states giving Israel $3.15 billion per year from 2013-2018. While American taxpayers have to pay through the nose for substandard health care insurance and a bottom drawer college education.

Israel is getting the money because they are fighting the fight on terrorism that visits America’s door. Frankly, it’s a good investment.

I don’t believe that any american would accept this kind of life. Yet it is being supported to the tune of 2.3 billion dollars of taxpayer dollars every year. Take a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ch5XlEZoi1c .

I will still vote for a “polarizing” man than a liberal/socialist/demorat that does nothing but hate, support murder, overtax, legislate your freedom away, tell you how to spend your hard earned money, and the list goes on and on and on.

Sorry, but Republicans are the haters. (Unless you have money, of course. Koch brothers, anyone?)

This is where all the arguing comes from. I watch the news, I read the news and sure sometimes I hear stuff that I don’t care for coming from the republicans but when it comes to hate, that is ALL I hear coming from the democrat. You sit there and tell me that the democrats don’t hate but the republicans do and I will look you right in the eye and call you a liar.

Maybe, who is arguing? I’m up for some intelligent discussion. Why in the world would you want to call it arguing, unless you were trying to start something?

maybe is supposed to be wearing his big boy panties, but I see he just won’t let the partisan politics go. Let’s all just be Americans and better yet humans in this hour of need. The world is uncertain. We need to pull together. Maybe, as soon as you strip off those panties, I need you to take point.

btw Maybe, I was just trying to make you laugh. 🙂 But I’ve noticed you are still hammering away with the Repubs vs Dems schpeel. You really do promote partisan politics, more than ever lately. Don’t you think we all should unite for the final years of our lives? Isn’t the fighting getting tiring? It is for me. Peace.

I am not too happy with some republicans and most democrats but the thing is I am also tired of the blame game. All the democrats say the problems are with the republicans and vice versa. If you want to get right down to it we are just as much at fault for voting for them. I can have an intelligent discussion over who is better without getting upset but when others start the blame game it gets frustrating.

@JMO-I am going to disagree with you here. Democrats have done more to divide by hate in the last six years than I have seen in my whole life and iI have seen a lot believe me. My family has been attacked many times because of what used to be called a mixed marrage by the old KKK and even people on the other side but I have never seen anything like what Obama puts out. They seem to thrive on the hate for some reason.

You lost me when you started talking about Democrats and Republicans. Incase you cannot see it they are both on the same team and we the people are on the other side. The only difference between the two parties is how they are going to screw you.

When you say Republicans and Democrats are the same, yes, you are lost.

There are Democrats, Republicans, and RHINO’S

RHINO= Republicans In Name Only

Unfortunately it is the RHINO’s that are holding elected office and voting for all the liberal Democratic policies that make appear the same. But clearly, RHINO’s are not conservative.
