OBIT: Kathleen Mae Pralle

Kathleen Mae Pralle, 94, of Hampton, formerly of Latimer, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton.

Kathleen Mae Pralle, 94, of Hampton, formerly of Latimer, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at Franklin Country View Nursing Facility in Hampton. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2024, at Woodley Funeral Home in Hampton. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 25, 2024, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer. Kathleen will be laid to rest in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Latimer. Woodley Funeral Home of Hampton is caring for Kathleen and her family.

Kathleen was born at home in rural Aplington on February 1, 1930, daughter of John and Jennie (Fecht) Buseman. She attended country school in Bristow. Kathleen was united in marriage to Leonard Henry Pralle on September 20, 1950, at the Dumont Reformed Church. She waitressed for 15 years and also helped Leonard with farming operations near Latimer. Kathleen also worked as a cook for the St. Paul Lutheran School in Latimer for several years.

Kathleen was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Latimer, where she also served on the Lutheran Women Missionary League and Latimer Park Society. She enjoyed sewing and making ceramic gifts and seasonal items. Kathleen also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was known for her pan of cinnamon rolls that she’d make for all family birthdays. Kathleen loved her annual fishing trips to Minnesota with Leonard.

Kathleen is survived by her sons: Terry Pralle of Iowa Falls and Alan (Annette) Pralle of Goodell; grandchildren: Andrea (Kent) Hickman of Alden; Chad (Amy) Pralle of Flippin, Arkansas; Sara (Ryan) Schlichting of Lake Elmo, Minnesota; Justin (Shawna) Pralle of Klemme; Adam (Ashley) Pralle of Ackley and Lana (Kevin) Krefting of Urbandale; 14 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister Alvina Voss of Grundy Center and brother Lenis Buseman of Charles City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Leonard Pralle; sisters Marian Pralle and Jan Reysack; brother Albert Buseman and great-great grandson Weston Douglas.
