HAWKEYE, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man running as an Independent for Congress is blaming the “two-party war machine” for the carnage in the Middle East and the war to decimate the terrorists running Iran.
The following is a statement from Dave Bushaw (pictured at top), Independent candidate for US Congress running in Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District, regarding the military operations this weekend in Iran:
“Even one American life is too many lost fighting illegal regime change wars. We just lost two Iowa National Guard members in Syria last year in the US-led occupation that has continued for more than a decade. Now, there are six more American deaths as a result of US-Israel operations in Iran. There’s also hundreds of Iranian casualties, including more than 100 killed in the bombing of an elementary school for young girls.
And the Federal Administration says that the American people should expect more deaths to come because ‘That’s the way it is.’
“For decades, the two-party war machine has prioritized taxpayer dollars for regime change war. Our primary focus must be fighting the wars that working people face everyday here at home — the struggle to pay for basic necessities like healthcare, housing, and groceries — not endless war around the world. I’ll stand against any enemy that threatens America’s shores, but I will not send American sons and daughters to die in illegal foreign wars against the will of American voters. I support Congressional efforts to pass a war powers resolution immediately.”
NIT reported on February 28 that U.S. and Israeli forces delivered a punishing blow to leaders of Iran. The war continues days later, with on-going strikes from both sides and economic and geo-political ramifications still unfolding.
