MINNEAPOLIS – Christian Schlaefer, candidate for Congress in Iowa’s Fourth Congressional District, was recently in downtown Minneapolis observing protest activity outside the Whipple Federal Building, and as he protected bystanders, he witnessed protestors blockade surrounding streets and attack a man with a baby.
Schlaefer emphasized the direct impact the situation in Minneapolis has on Iowans who regularly travel, work, and conduct business across the Iowa-Minnesota border.
“Tens of thousands of Iowans from the Fourth District go to Minnesota every day to work, shop, and travel. These are not issues our state can ignore and not issues our country can ignore. If the radical politicians in Minnesota have lost their minds, then the reasonable politicians in Iowa must be louder than ever.”
While in Minneapolis on January 9, Schlaefer (pictured at top, interviewed at the scene … see interview at bottom of story) noted what he described as an absence of visible state and local law enforcement, leaving federal agents isolated while protestors freely occupied major city streets.

“On the ground, it is evident that Tim Walz and the leadership of Minneapolis are attempting to incite these protests to grow for political reasons. Entire city blocks were under the control of protestors for hours, blocking traffic and harassing bystanders attempting to go home after work. Despite this, there was not a single marked police vehicle anywhere in the area.”
Schlaefer further stated that he personally witnessed multiple incidents of violence, including attacks on federal agents and counter-protestors. In one incident, he was forced to personally step in to protect a family with children from being physically assaulted after they expressed pro-ICE sentiments.
Schlaefer highlighted the national significance of the unrest and stressed the importance of maintaining federal law enforcement operations.
“My message is clear: the deportations must continue. The administration cannot allow a state to undermine national sovereignty by misleading people and inciting protests. Immigration, along with the crime, fraud, and upheaval it causes, is the priority issue in this nation.”

Please move to WALTZIE land comrade !
If this was true it would have been in the top news broadcasts.
Stop killing innocent American citizens and the protests will stop. Duhhhh!
Protesting was being done long before anyone got shot.
Minneapolis is abhorrent. These rioters need to be mowed down and arrested. Ellison, Walz, Frey and other criminal leaders ought to be in shackles by now. Where is the morality and accountability?
Democratic socialists…….
You are the abhorrent one. “Mowed down”? You think more deaths will be better for this country? Sicko.
