Marcia Jean Edwards, 66, of Livermore, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2026, surrounded by family at her home.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, January 23, at Lentz Funeral Home in Algona. Service will be livestreamed via Lentz Funeral Home’s website: https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/marcia-edwards. Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM and continue until the time of service.

Marcia was born December 14, 1959, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, to Floyd and Arlene (Cibert) Hawkins. She graduated from St. Edmond High School in 1978, attended Central Texas College, and earned a cosmetology degree from La’James. She married Brian Edwards on July 15, 1978, in Fort Dodge.

A dedicated community volunteer and supporter of veterans’ and children’s causes, Marcia was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 415 in Livermore, assisted with Honor Flight fundraising, and supported St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Shriners. She enjoyed bird watching, horseback riding, fishing, singing, dancing, hairstyling, gardening, baking, and, above all, spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Brian Edwards of Livermore; children Aaron (Kate) Edwards of Olathe, KS, and Raeanda (Nathan) Allard of Humboldt, IA; grandchildren Paige Allard, Peyton Allard, Mason Edwards, Elliott Edwards, and Cora Edwards; siblings Steve Hawkins of California, Andy Hawkins of Fort Dodge, IA, and Brian Hawkins of Prairie Grove, AR; aunt Donna Brown of Fort Dodge, IA; and uncles Gary Hawkins and Ronnie Hawkins of Fort Dodge, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Arlene, and sister Lyn McClellan.

Memorials may be directed to American Legion Auxiliary Post 415, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the Shriners, Michael Jay Fox Foundation, or Unity Point Hospice. Lentz Funeral Home of Algona is handling arrangements.
