WASHINGTON, D.C. – The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, was presented with the inaugural “FIFA Peace Prize – Football Unites the World” by FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ at the iconic John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.

President Trump received the FIFA Peace Prize award and a commemorative medal after having only yesterday welcomed the leaders of Congo DR and Rwanda to the American capital to sign a historic peace treaty. In addition, the US President, who was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on 20 January 2025, played a pivotal role in establishing a ceasefire and promoting peace between Israel and Palestine, and he has also actively sought to end other conflicts.

The FIFA President commended President Trump’s tireless efforts to bring people together in a spirit of peace.

“This is what we want from a leader; A leader that cares about the people. We want to live in a safe world, in a safe environment. We want to unite – that’s what we do here today, that’s what we’ll do at the (FIFA) World Cup, Mr President,” Gianni Infantino said in presenting the award.

“You definitely deserve the first FIFA Peace Prize for your action, for what you have obtained in your way, but you have obtained it in an incredible way. You can always count, Mr President, on my support, on the support of the entire football community – or “soccer” community – to help you make peace and make the world prosper all over the world.”

The FIFA Peace Prize award was sculpted by Azerbaijani artists Salhab Mammadov and Ali Ibadullayev, who have displayed their work at the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, among other venues, and is due to be bestowed annually to an individual in recognition of their extraordinary action for peace and, in doing so, helps to unite people across the globe.

  1. I guess anyone can get a ‘peace prize’ if you havhe the right connections. Except, of course, for the real Nobel Peace Prize. For that one, you actually need to do something that shows you are doing things that actually promote peace.

  2. WOnder how much this cost him? Or how much it cost the American taxpayer. giving a peace award to a man who is committing murder in international waters, contemplating invading another country for no other reason than exploiting its resources and falsely claiming to have ended the war between Israel and Palestine and Russia and Ukraine is ridiculous.

    1. Nothing.
      Again nothing
If he committed murder, what was it called when Obama did it bombing civilians?
What resources do we need from them?

brokered peace deal between Israel and Houties.(sp)
Have to show me where he said he ended war between Russia and Ukraine

      1. trump has been begging for a Nobel Peace prize since his first term in office. He criticizes the people the Nobel committee chooses and he makes it known that he thinks he should win. He makes his minions promote him for the prize in hopes that someone will notice him. He is, as stated before, a child who needs the adulation of his cult to satisfy his fragile ego. I think the Nobel committee knows that there is absolutely no guarantee if he is awarded the prize that he will not embarrass them in the future. I believe they know the odds are not in their favor if they do give him the prize. Of course, that wouldn’t be enough for him. He also wants every organization to award him their person of the year award every year.
And as far as Matt’s assertion that my wondering is “lame”, you have to wonder what he has been reading lately. Everything is for sale in the trump administration.

          1. Cry some more. Head of the Nobel committee “Thorbjørn Jagland said “We have not given the prize for what may happen in the future. We are awarding Obama for what he has done in the past year. And we are hoping this may contribute a little bit for what he is trying to do,” noting that he hoped the award would assist Obama’s foreign policy efforts. Jagland said the committee was influenced by a speech Obama gave about Islam in Cairo in June 2009, the president’s efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation and climate change, and Obama’s support for using established international bodies such as the United Nations to pursue foreign policy goals.” “Obama announced early that he would donate the full 10 million Swedish kronor (about US$1.4 million) monetary award to charity.[15] The largest donations were given to the housing charity Fisher House Foundation who received $250,000, and the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund which received $200,000. Eight organizations which support education also received a donation. $125,000 was donated to the College Summit, the Posse Foundation, the United Negro College Fund, the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, the Appalachian Leadership and Education Foundation, and the American Indian College Fund. $100,000 was donated to Africare, and the Central Asia Institute.”
