Kay King, 85, of Ackley, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at her home in Ackley. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ackley with burial in the church cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the guidance of the Sietsema Funeral Home in Ackley.
Kay Mary King was born on December 18, 1939, in Hampton, Iowa. She went to country school until eighth grade and then the Catholic parochial school. Kay attended ninth through twelfth grade at Ackley High School graduating in 1958. She then went on to Ellsworth Community College for a year and a half to study bookkeeping. Kay grew up on the family farm until 1999 when her and her sister Darlene moved to town.
Kay was preceded in death by her mother Clara Kempthorne, father Edward King, and infant brother Mark James King.
She is survived by her sister Darlene.
