Police raid Oelwein house … missing, wanted teen, and plenty of illegal drugs inside.

HAWKEYE, IOWA – A possibly demented, meth-toting, cell-phone operating woman driver out tooling around slammed into another woman driver, leading to thousands in damages and a police investigation that ensnared another meth-user and a wanted, missing teen boy hiding out in a Northern Iowa drug lair.

On October 11, 2025, at approximately 10:39 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of West Wilbur Street and South Burrell Street in Hawkeye, Iowa. After further investigation, it was determined that Samantha Rae Corsbie, age 37 of Garnavillo, Iowa, was operating a black 2021 Chevrolet Traverse LT at the West Wilbur Street stop sign when she entered the intersection to turn north bound on South Burrell Street. However, at the intersection, Regina Rena Larson, age 52 of Oelwein, Iowa, was operating a black 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad at the South Burrell Street stop sign when she entered the intersection to turn east bound on West Wilbur Street. Larson over steered into Corsbie’s lane and struck the Chevrolet Traverse and then continued to drive through the collision causing more vehicular damage to both vehicles.

No injuries were reported, however, the Chevrolet Traverse received approximately $3,000 in damages, and the Dodge Ram received approximately $1,500 in damages.

Police said that Larson was reportedly on her cellphone during the collision.

Additionally, during the collision investigation, a Fayette County Deputy noticed an aroma of illegal substances was coming from the Dodge Ram that Regina Larson was operating. After further investigation, the Fayette County Deputy located over 19 grams of methamphetamine. Larson was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail on the following charges:

  • Controlled Substance Violation (B Felony)

  • Possession of Controlled Substance – 2nd Offense – Methamphetamine (Aggravated Misdemeanor)

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

  • Failure to Yield upon Entering through the Highway.

Larson awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.

Through this drug investigation, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was able to obtain enough information for a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue NE in Oelwein, Iowa. On October 11, 2025, at approximately 11:10 PM, a search warrant was executed by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office and the Oelwein Police Department. Two occupants attempted to conceal themselves from law enforcement; one was found hiding behind a fake wall and under a stairwell, the second was found hiding in the attic and insulation.

As a result of the house raid, illegal substances were seized and a suspect, Michael William Bushaw, age 34 of Oelwein, was arrested and transported to the Fayette County Jail on the following charges:

  • Controlled Substance Violation (C Felony)

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance – 3rd/Subsequent (D Felony)

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor)

  • Harboring a Runaway (Aggravated Misdemeanor),

  • Interference with Official Acts (Simple Misdemeanor).

Bushaw also had a Valid Buchanan County Warrant for his arrest for failure to appear to wait for sentencing. Bushaw awaits an initial appearance from a Magistrate Judge.

Additionally, a 16-year-old male juvenile was located at this residence who was reported missing and had a valid warrant for his arrest. The male juvenile will receive additional charges, police said, that are being referred to the Juvenile Court, and he was transported to a detention facility.

      1. Just wondering why lawbreakers who are undocumented migrants get headlines from you telling us that it was an illegal immigrant was the perp. Thought you might have missed one but I guess there are more legals committing crimes than undocumented ones so they don’t get identifying headlines.
