WASHINGTON – Secretary of State John Kerry will host an Iftar to commemorate the month of Ramadan in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the Department of State on Wednesday, July 24, 2013.
At this event, Secretary Kerry will highlight State Department efforts to reach out in innovative and exciting ways to engage with Muslim communities around the world. The event will reinforce programs that build bridges of understanding and partnership, and celebrate people whose work exemplifies a spirit of cooperation and commitment to change.
An Iftar is a celebratory dinner breaking the fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan, the month of the Islamic calendar during which Muslims fast from dawn to sunset. Ramadan is the month Muslims believe the Qu’ran was revealed to the Prophet Mohamed; it is a month of reflection, generosity, and compassion for nearly 1.7 billion Muslims worldwide.
What is wrong with these politicians? I can’t believe our secretary of state can’t figure out that the genocide occurring all over this world is because of religious sects want to rule and now he aids and abets these actions. Gee, I wonder how many people have been killed in the name of “christianity”. And I wonder how many people have had their ways of life destroyed by “christians”. From sources I can find, the total for those that died “at the hands” of Christianity totals around 5-6 million. The total of those that have died at the hands of Islam are as follows: 120 million Africans (in part due to Islamic slavers), 60 million Christians, 80 million Hindus, 10 million Buddhists, for a total of 270 million.
While much of the above is historical, recent history speaks volumes. The Armenian genocide carried out in 1915 was the killing of 1,500,000 Christians “at the hands” of Islamic Turks. Obviously, Islamic terrorists have continued their efforts right up to now.

This is completely BS. John Kerry needs to do several, year long tours with the Marines on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. How about hosting something around Hanukkah, or whatever special event that African Americans celebrate. Why are there no moderate muslims. Have you ever heard a group or mosques condemn any acts by the Muslims terrorist. If they practice Islam then they believe what the Koran says and agree with the terrorist. If they don’t agree then they are muslims in name only.
I have heard several Muslims speak out about the bombings and how badly they reflect on the Muslim population in this country. You have a small percentage of the population who tend to create stereotypes of the entire group. In this country, we often have a small number of people who dictate what is going to happen here and the majority do not really adhere or espouse those things. Truth be said, if ALL people in this country took time to express their views we would see an extremely large numbers of middle of the roaders who think both the right and left are batshit crazy.

Why are we celebrating anything involving this “religion”? Within just the last century it has managed to murder over 1,000,000 people beginning with the Armenians. Our first war was against the Barbary pirates who demanded tribute for ships to travel the Mediterranean. Does the Marine hymn passage “to the halls of Tripoli” ring a bell?
