August 11, 1945 — August 6, 2025

Trudy Ann (Blake) Scott of Stacyville, IA, formerly of Denver, CO, left this earthly home on August 6, 2025, after a valiant fight with Parkinson’s Disease. Trudy was born in Osage, IA, the first of nine daughters born to Margaret (Bissen) and Alex Blake. She graduated from Visitation High School in Stacyville in 1963, and St. Joseph School of Nursing, Mason City in 1966. From there, she continued her nursing career in many roles and locations but primarily in Denver, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico.

On January 19, 1981, Trudy married Levy Scott in Denver. Trudy was known for her unique flair for style both in their beautiful home and in her classy clothing choices. But more than material abilities, it was her bright and genuine smile that was a constant source of admiration and positive energy to everyone she met. Her compassionate nursing care over her 40-year career impacted many people as evidenced by the myriad of notes of appreciation from patients and families. Trudy also received multiple honors for her exemplary nursing care.

Trudy is survived by her husband, Levy; stepdaughter and step-grandson, Sondra and Phillip Scott of Denver CO. Additionally, she leaves behind her eight sisters: Elaine (Greg) White of Midland, MI, Julie (Al) Barkley of Pittsburgh, PA, Jane (Kirby) Moses, Lu (John) Groth, Karen (Doug) Brumm Linda (Mike) Mullenbach of St. Ansgar IA, Geri (Phil) Brumm of Stacyville IA, and Kristy Blake of Manchester, IA. A large extended family also survives to grieve her loss.

A special mention would like to be extended to Trudy’s dearest friend from nursing school days, Charlotte Cole of Grafton, IA, who has been a continuous source of love and support over the years.

Trudy was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Margaret Blake, who both passed away in 2019.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 2:00 p.m. and a gathering of family and friends from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. at Hoff Celebrations – Champion Chapel in Osage. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the Stacyville Community Nursing Home where Trudy resided and received the most impeccable care in the last fourteen months of her life.
