RINGSTED, IOWA – A pair of Minnesota suspects donned masks and descended upon a rural Northern Iowa homestead for potentially nefarious acts, then as cops and their drones and dogs closed in, hid in a pile of appliances, only to be uprooted and whisked away to be processed like rutabagas in the blender of justice.

At 3:40 PM on April 23, 2025, the Emmet County Communication Center received a 911 call for an active burglary in progress at 2545 490th Avenue in Ringsted, Iowa. The land owner advised that two male suspects were on his property wearing masks over their face. After the suspects saw the land owner, they took off further into the property.

Upon arriving on scene, the land owner advised responding personnel that the two suspects never left the property. With this information, a perimeter was set up around the entire property, and additional resources were called in.

While waiting for additional resources, multiple attempts were made to communicate with the suspects. These communication attempts were unsuccessful. During this time, law enforement also had several drones flying the area in an attempt to locate the suspects.

The MART Team (Multi-Agency Response Team) was called to the scene to assist. Once MART was deployed, with the use of Police K9’s, a K9 team was able to locate both suspects hiding in a large pile of appliances. At 7:48 PM, both male suspects were removed from the pile and taken into custody without incident.

The suspects, Jory William Embacher and Brenson Scott Juni (pictured at top) both from New Ulm, MN, have been charged and booked into the Emmet County Jail on the following charges:

– Third-degree burglary, a Class D Felony

– Possession of burglar tools, an aggravated misdemeanor

This investigation remains open, with more charges likely to follow, police said.

The Emmet County Sheriff’s thanked the following agencies for assisting: Emmet County Communication Center, Estherville Police Department, Kossuth and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office’s, Emmet, Kossuth, and Palo Alto County Emergency Management, Iowa State Patrol, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, Martin County, MN Sheriff’s Office, Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force, Ringsted Ambulance, and Simplot Grower Solutions. The MART Team is comprised with members of the Emmet, Kossuth, and Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Offices, and the Algona, Emmetsburg, and West Bend Police Departments.
