GREENFIELD, IOWA – A Hispanic male was stabbed to death, police say, and another is charged with murder in this Iowa town.
At approximately 12:45 AM on April 19, 2025, the Adair County Communication Center received a 911 call for a stabbing that occurred in the 200 block of NE 4th Street in Greenfield, Iowa.
Officers from the Greenfield Police Department arrived and located a deceased Hispanic male inside the residence. A suspect, 39-year-old Yudiel Vega-Blanco, was taken into custody without incident and transported the Adair County Jail.
A second victim was also identified in the residence and suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The names of the victims are not being released pending notification of family. Law enforcement considers this to be an isolated incident with no active threat to the community.
Yudiel Vega-Blanco has been charged with:
– First-degree murder, a class A felony
– Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, a Class D felony
The Greenfield Police Department is being assisted by the Adair County Sheriff’s Office, The Adair County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
