MAYNARD, IOWA – This Northern Iowa suspect, facing domestic abuse and felony stalking charges and released from jail last month, allegedly violated a no-contact order and committed a felony assault on a female.
On March 12, 2025 at approximately 11:40 AM, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was notified of an assault that took place at 115 Rich Street in the city of Maynard, Iowa. The victim had been transported to the hospital by private vehicle to be treated for her injuries.
Upon further investigation, 26-year-old Joseph G. Kane of Maynard, Iowa, was charged with the following crimes:
– Willful injury (class “D” felony; bond was set in the amount of $10,000.00 cash only)
– Assault (simple misdemeanor)
– Violation of a No Contact Order (simple misdemeanor)
Kane remains in custody at the Fayette County Jail, awaiting a March 26 preliminary hearing.
NIT reported last August that Kane was allegedly drunk and fled police, and that case remains in court as well.
