Happy 239th Birthday America!

I don’t think we are doing so bad for such a young nation as we work through our adolescent growing pains.  If we can make it through these pains, I think we will grow to be a refined, mature nation. We may not be the best in the world right now, but we do have the capacity to be the best.  Our strength has always been in our diversity–the constant exchange of different cultures sharing ideas with one another to create new approaches to problem solving processes. Our desire to truly be individuals frequently and actively practicing our self-expression has created a culture of freedom sought after and desired by so many people in other nations throughout the world.

We are not a perfect country and I hope we never will be, as our imperfection continues to spark ingenuity generation after generation. Sometimes I complain and gripe about our decision makers, our economic problems, and our social flaws as a nation, however I only complain because when you love something so much, it hurts to see it suffer or come short of its greatness… its potential.

This country might be much different since the time our grandfathers gave their blood and sweat to protect the concept of freedom, to stand against tyranny, and to set the stage for the greatest exponential technology leaps in the history of the human race…but this is still our country…ours to protect, ours to serve, and ours to preserve.

Our freedom exists and will only continue to exist if we diligently guard it, actively express it, and earnestly teach each new generation that freedom is not free, but sacrifices were made; so do not take this freedom for granted.

Tyrants beware!  Our men and women will fight out of love for their country. They fight from their hearts. They fight in honor and respect of the sacrifices made before them and for the freedom we cherish. Our men and women take great risk of their own accord to stand up for what they love…not from forced conscription, fear of punishment, or material gain. We represent a republic that has been a beacon of light to the oppressed worldwide, guiding and leading them out of the darkness of monarchy, oligarchies, aristocracies and totalitarianism.
