Hardened Iowa criminal escalates deeds to murder, allegedly

DAVENPORT, IOWA – After an Iowa woman was found dead, cops say this convicted Iowa criminal with a prolific rap sheet murdered her, but he is maintaining his innocence.

On August 31, 2024, at approximately 9:57 AM, Davenport Police, Fire, and Medic EMS were dispatched to a residence in the 200 block of South Elmwood Avenue in reference to a possible overdose. Upon arrival, responding personnel located an adult female, later identified as 33-year-old Madeline Bakoylis, of Davenport, who was pronounced dead on the scene. Investigation was initiated pending autopsy results.

On October 10, 2024, Davenport Police received autopsy results listing the manner of death as homicide, reportedly by strangulation and blunt force trauma.

On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, Davenport Police charged 35-year-old Dillon R. Adams of Davenport, Iowa, with Murder 1st Degree in relation to this incident. Adams remains in-custody at the Scott County Jail. He has entered a not-guilty plea.

According to records, Adams (pictured at top) has felony and other convictions stretching back for years for violent crimes, burglary, and more.
