CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS – Iowa travelled to Illinois Thursday and brought poor foul shooting, poor three-point shooting and plenty of turnovers to allow Illinois to claw back and win this Big Ten game.
The game was played in the State Farm Center in Champaign, Illinois.
Hannah Stuelke recorded her seventh career double-double and third of the season. Stuelke’s seven career double-doubles tie for 10th most in program history since 2009. It was Stuelke 10th career game with double digit rebounds as a Hawkeye. Stuelke has netted 13+ points in seven of the last 10 games.
Stuelke tied her career-best with 13 rebounds.
Lucy Olsen notched 15 points, a team-high five assists, and four rebounds. Olsen has reached double figures in 13 career games as a Hawkeye. Olsen and Stuelke combined for 34 of Iowa’s 57 points. She contributed 5 turnovers in this game.
The Hawkeyes outrebounded the Illini, 42-30. However, was 5-20 from three and 8-17 from the foul line.
Both teams shot 40 percent from the field.
Taylor McCabe has made at least a pair of 3-pointers in three out of five Big Ten contests this season.
McCabe is 11-of-27 from deep against Big Ten competition.
Aaliyah Guyton, an Illinois native, made her first career start as a Hawkeye.
Iowa was 8-of-17 (47 percent) from the free throw.
