ELLSWORTH – Iowa law enforcement nabbed a Minnesota driver fueling up at a gas station on a plethora of charges.
Deputies with Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation on Friday, November 22, 2024. At 11:26 AM that day, deputies and an ElLsworth, Iowa, officer responded to the Kum & GO located at 1111 IA-175 in Ellsworth, just off Interstate 35. There was a report of an allegedly intoxicated person there, getting gas.
After making contact with a suspect and conducting an investigation, a deputy arrested 57-year-old James Phillip Shelton of Minnesota on the following charges:
– Possession of Marijuana
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– No Valid Driver’s License
– Operating without IGN Interlock Device
Shelton posted bond on November 25 and was released from jail, pending court appearances beginning December 2, with an arraignment set for December 11.
