MASON CITY – A Mason City man gifted hand-made pens to the police department recently.

Officer Jason Hugi reported via social media that on Friday, September 24, 2021, the department got a “big surprise.”

“We got a big surprise Friday when WWII Navy veteran Karl Zimmerman stopped by MCPD with lathe-turned pens for all of our staff,” officer Hugi said. “Karl spends about three hours on each pen. Our thanks to Karl for his service to our country and for his thoughtful gift. We will put them to good use.”

Karl also gifted a similar pen to Senator Charles Grassley this year. Grassley wrote him a letter of thanks for the gift.

you can always tell the people who have been arrested or gotten traffic tickets. they are yhe naysayers on here, always remember that law enforcement didnt do it to you, you did it to yourself.

Awesome!

What a bootlicker. I thought WW2 vets punched nazis, not this guy though – collaborator. He fits right in with the fascists at MCPD. What a choad.

I bet Karl could kick your ass
