MASON CITY – The November elections are rapidly approaching, and voters will have a chance to meet local candidates tonight at a forum at Mason City High School.

The 2024 elections are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Numerous offices are on the ballot, including offices of importance to local government. The League of Women Voters has organized a forum for these candidates. Cerro Gordo County candidates for Auditor, Sheriff, and Supervisor Districts 1 and 3 have all been extended invitations. Also invited are candidates on the ballot for Federal and State offices.

According to the League, “Public forums offer a platform for voters to learn more about the candidates and will feature a moderated discussion where candidates share their views on critical issues. Audience members are encouraged to participate by submitting questions for the candidates. Select questions will be posed to the candidates during the event focused on issues specific to the office. Volunteers will also be available to assist attendees in registering to vote and provide information on the voting process for the upcoming election.”

The event is scheduled for 6:30 PM in the FEMA Room, Mason City High School, 1700 4th Street SE.
