HOUSTON, TEXAS – #18 Iowa State defeated Houston, 20-0, Saturday night in Houston, Texas.

The game was played inside TDECU Stadium in Houston, Texas, in front of 25,138 fans. The game was a low-scoring slugfest until Iowa State broke it open late.

Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell is now 57-48 at Iowa State and 92-63 overall as a head coach. Campbell’s 57 wins at Iowa State are the most in program history, passing Dan McCarney’s record of 56.
Campbell has coached Iowa State as a ranked team a school record 27 times with a 16-11 record.

Iowa State is 4-0 for the eighth time in school history and the first time since 2000.

The shutout of Houston was the first for Iowa State since a 45-0 win over Kansas State in 2020 and the first road conference shutout for the Cyclones since beating Kansas State 24-0 in 1971.

The Cyclones streak of 38 consecutive scores in the red zone came to an end with a missed field goal.

Iowa State has won the turnover battle in all four games this year and are 36-9 under Campbell when doing so.

The Cyclones have held back-to-back opponents scoreless in the first half for the first time since at least 2013.

Iowa State has won five-straight road Big 12 games.
