DES MOINES – Iowa’s Kim Reynolds is making headlines tonight as America’s most unpopular governor as she held a big rally for Ron DeSantis and his campaign for President, angering Donald Trump.
Gov. Kim Reynolds (R-Iowa) is America’s most unpopular governor, with a 47% disapproval rating, up from 39% in the first quarter of 2023, according to the Morning Consult.
“Her unpopularity increased partly because of a surge in negative sentiment among independent and Republican voters during a year in which she signed a strict anti-abortion law and took a lashing from former President Donald Trump over her apparent closeness with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.),” the Consult said.
Even as they published their current political findings, Reynolds held a rally in Des Moines with DeSantis, backing his beleaguered campaign for President.
“I can’t sit on the sidelines,” Reynolds said as she backtracked on a promise not to back a candidate before the January primaries. “Ron DeSantis is the person who will fight for you. Who will have the moral conviction to do what’s right & the ability to actually do what he promises. His record proves that. He has my full endorsement! We need someone who gets results. Someone who knows when life begins. Someone who looks to the future. Someone who can WIN!”
Evidently, the former President who lost the 2020 election by several million votes got wind of Reynolds’ “disloyalty” and blasted her in a news release:
Kim Reynolds apparently has begun her retirement tour early as she clearly does not have any ambition for higher office.
Earlier this year, she promised her constituents that she would remain neutral in the race, yet she has completely gone back on that promise. Regardless, her endorsement will not make any difference in this race. In a poll conducted about the impact of a Reynolds endorsement, 72% of respondents replied that it would not affect how they vote.
President Trump is the undisputed leader of the Republican Party and that’s why he not only leads every single Iowa poll by significant margins but also beats Crooked Joe Biden in the general.
