MARCUS, IOWA – Two Iowans were injured after their car plunged into a storefront Friday afternoon.
According to a report, Verna Nicks, age 55, was driving her 1998 Dodge Intrepid when she became distracted while pulling into a parking space in front of an auto parts store.
Nicks “accidentally pushed the accelerator instead of the brake” and “drove through the glass storefront and completely into the store.”
Nicks was injured, as was a a 62 year-old man in the car with her, Mark Babcock. They were both transported to LeMars Hospital with minor injuries.
The store suffered significant damage.
The report did not indicate that any charges were filed against Nicks.
