SIDNEY, IOWA – An Iowa man was chased while hiding in a field after he allegedly threatened and relentlessly pursued a person protected by a restraining order.

Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope says that on September 12, 2023, deputies arrested 58-year-old Terry Lee Prine (pictured, above) of Sidney, Iowa, for first-degree harassment and 11 counts of contempt of court for violation of a no contact order. It is alleged that on September 11, 2023, Prine sent approximately 58 text messages and made multiple phone calls to the protected party. Deputies also witnessed Prine making threats to commit a burglary and kill a friend of the protected party. Prine was later observed hiding in a field in Sidney and fled from witnesses on foot.

Prine turned himself into law enforcement on September 12. He was released on two days later after posting $6,000 surety bond.

Prine was previously released from jail on August 8, 2023, after serving 29 days for a previous no contact order violation.
