MASON CITY – A Nora Springs man was seriously hurt when his BMW motorcycle allegedly ran a red light Monday afternoon on a busy Mason City highway and struck a pickup truck.
According to a Mason City police spokesman, “Crash occurred at 122 and Indianhead at 3:26 p.m. on September 2, 2019. Kelly Mishak, age 51, of Nora Springs, was eastbound on Highway 122 approaching Indianhead on a 2001 BMW motorcycle. Jody Kleveland, age 51, of Forest City, was northbound on Indianhead at 122 (driving a pickup truck). According to witnesses, Mishak was eastbound and failed to obey a red light. Kleveland had started to make a left turn onto 122 and was hit in the front driver’s corner by Mishak’s motorcycle.”
NIT is told that Mr. Mishak, the motorcycle driver, was reported to have a broken leg and holding his arm. Later it was said that he had possible head injuries due to seeing blood in his right ear. He was not wearing a helmet, as NIT is told.
Mishak was transported to MercyONE North Iowa. Police told NIT “we are unaware of his condition at this time.”
MCPD was assisted at the scene by the Mason City Fire Department and the Iowa State Patrol and Affordable Towing was called to get the bike.

Bikers need to slow down and follow the law. They all think they are Hells Angels when they get on their bikes.
A waste of space motorcyclist

Yep, darn wild motorcycles. They just get up and take off by themselves. I guess we are gonna have to start chaining them to the porch.
Wouldn’t possibly be someone operating the motorcycle that decided they didn’t have to obey traffic laws, now would it?
Kind of like a gun!
Sorry about the accident . But the pictures are good.
