
Paige Thorson moves to her new role after serving as Health Policy Advisor in the governor’s office since December 2017. She previously practiced law with the Nyemaster Goode law firm in Des Moines and served in the Iowa Department of Human Services, Office of the State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and the Iowa Department on Aging. Thorson is a graduate of Drake University Law School and Iowa State University. Thorson grew up in Des Moines and currently lives in Norwalk with her husband and two daughters.
Sam Langholz joins the governor’s office after serving as the Chief Administrative Law Judge of the Administrative Hearings Division of the Iowa Department of Inspections and Appeals. He previously served as Iowa’s State Public Defender and practiced law with the Davis Brown law firm in Des Moines. After graduating from the University of Iowa College of Law, Langholz clerked for Judge Steven M. Colloton on the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. Langholz grew up in Clear Lake and currently lives in Ankeny with his wife and two sons.
