
HAWKEYE, IOWA – An elderly Northern Iowa woman was killed while driving her UTV when a female teen driver slammed into the rear of the vehicle, causing her to be ejected and deceased.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place on August 12, 2025. At 1:32 PM that afternoon, just south of Hawkeye, Iowa on R Avenue, 71-year-old Rhonda Lynn Robinson of Hawkeye, Iowa, was operating a 2017 Polaris Ranger UTV, traveling southbound on R Avenue. Then, a 2010 Chevy Malibu operated by 18-year-old Kennadi Butikofer of Hawkeye collided with the rear of the UTV.
As a result of the collision, Robinson was ejected from the UTV and killed.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, Hawkeye First Responders, Sumner Ambulance and Tieskoetter Towing.
The accident remains under investigation.
