MASON CITY – A North Iowa woman who faced court this month for several other crimes was caught stealing this week at the Mason City Walmart.
Mason City police were called to Walmart, 4151 4th Street SW, on the evening of Thursday, December 28. Officers arrived and after an investigation, arrested an alleged shoplifter, 38-year-old Laurin Casey Henton of Lakota, Iowa. She was jailed on a theft charge and soon released, pending a trial next month.
Records show Henton had several crimes dismissed this month in court. However, she was guilty of identity theft in Kossuth county after she was charged by Algona police. She was sentenced to a suspended 2-year prison sentence, ordered to pay $1,417.75 in fines and court fees and 2 years of probation.
