ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – A break in a wastewater force main in Jackson, Minn., early on April 8 resulted in raw wastewater entering the Des Moines River about 20 miles north of Estherville, Iowa.

The force main broke at about 1 AM. An estimated 10,000 gallons of wastewater per hour was flowing into a storm drain that drains into the river when the break occurred. Repair crews fixed the force main about 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Iowa DNR staff said because of high volume and swift currents in the river the already dilute wastewater is not expected to have an impact.

  1. Adam Lack -Mitchell County -(IF) ???? – their was a crime committed I am sure charges would have been filed? Yea Right! – these bastards are gong to flle charges against THEMSELVES !– QUIT DRINKING THE KOOL AID – If you read the story (plot) these people more or less helped murdered Adam Lack. ALL PLANNED by those who control that county as far as I can read. The more I read this story the better it gets . Should be made into a movie like WALKING TALL !

  2. Make the news if you were republican – demorats lie/con their way to power and corruption for the almighty $$$$$$

    1. who cares!!! get over it!!!! if there was a crime committed i’m sure there would have been charges filed. quit trying to grab fame from a non-news worthy event.

  3. Well those people down there have been drinking manure waste for years from up north so this is just a little bit different taste and probably not as deadly.
