MASON CITY – Nick Wurm scored a career-high 27 points, including seven 3-point goals, with a career-best 10 rebounds, seven assists and two steals to lift NIACC to a 82-55 victory over Iowa Central in ICCAC men’s basketball action Saturday.

Wurm’s seven 3-point goals in a game is tied for second with seven others on the NIACC men’s basketball single-game 3-point list. Mike Eckenrod holds the record with eight 3-pointers in a game against Waldorf College in the 1987-88 season.

NIACC also received 15 points and eight rebounds from Tim Trousell. Ben Moss scored 12 points and Darnell Taylor-Breck scored 10 points.

It’s the first time this season that NIACC has held an opponent under 60 points. It’s also Iowa Central’s lowest offensive output against NIACC since the Tritons topped NIACC 55-52 in the 1996-97 season.

NIACC (12-7 overall, 1-2 in the ICCAC) returns to action Wednesday at home against Ellsworth.
