Signing with the Lady Trojans were Rylie Smith, who attends Newman Catholic but plays soccer at Mason City High, and Bondurant-Farrar’s Jessi Altman.
“I’m very excited to play for a new team and meete a lot of new people,” Smith said. “I’m excited to play my favorite sport in high school.”
Altman said she enjoyed her visit to NIACC and Mason City and is looking forward to playing for the Lady Trojans next season.
“I really liked the campus,” Altman said. “I like how they explained everything to me and put it all out there.
“I’m looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and having fun with it.”
NIACC will begin playing women’s soccer in the fall of 2017.
NIACC played women’s soccer from 2001-04.
Currently, there are 143 NJCAA women’s Division I soccer teams, including seven in the ICCAC. Hawkeye CC, Indian Hills, Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes, Iowa Western, Northeast CC and Scott CC are the seven schools in the conference that field women’s soccer teams.
