LISBON, PORTUGAL – A rock legend has stepped in to fill the hole left by the departed lead singer of one of the world’s greatest heavy metal bands.
AC/DC’S world tour was in jeopardy as lead singer Brian Johnson faces permanent hearing loss, presumedly from too much rocking in loud stadiums. He has now left the band indefinitely, leaving AC/DC scrambling to fill his shoes.
“AC/DC band members would like to thank Brian Johnson for his contributions and dedication to the band throughout the years. We wish him all the best with his hearing issues and future ventures. As much as we want this tour to end as it started, we understand, respect and support Brian’s decision to stop touring and save his hearing,” the band said in a statement this weekend.
“We are dedicated to fulfilling the remainder of our touring commitments to everyone that has supported us over the years, and are fortunate that Axl Rose (the controversial former lead singer of Guns n Roses) has kindly offered his support to help us fulfill this commitment. AC/DC will resume their Rock Or Bust World Tour with Axl Rose joining on vocals.”
The European stadium tour dates begin on May 7 in Lisbon, Portugal.
Following this European run of dates with AC/DC, Axl Rose will head out on his Guns N Roses, “Not In This Lifetime” Summer Stadium Tour.
Ten postponed AC/DC U.S shows will be rescheduled and announced imminently, also with Axl Rose.

Clearly most of you folks never have seen guns n roses live in recent years, axl rose is one of a kind frontman, the press has always potrayed the negative, probably one of the nicest guys in rock, his voice was spot on when I saw him in 11, at 54 he’s busting his ass on stage while 3 hours a night, if you cant stay late at a rock concert your probably too damn old. At 54 he has lived not only a better life than most of you, but he still kicking ass, I bet the guy saying negative stuff is 300lbs and eating a donut, troll!!
