SWALEDALE, IOWA – Law enforcement responded to a fight in Swaledale and two men were taken to jail.
The incident took place on Thursday evening, January 21 at about 8:38 PM at the 300 block of Main Street. A fight was reported at that location, and Cerro Gordo deputies soon arrived to investigate. Sheriff Kevin Pals tells NIT that it was basically an altercation between two men, 19-year-old Austin Keith Hodson and 18-year-old Trevor Kent Hueneman, both of Garner, Iowa. Both men were arrested and taken to the county jail, charged with disorderly conduct – fighting or violent behavior.
By the next day, January 22, both Hodson and Hueneman pleaded guilty. Each was ordered to pay $195.00 in fines and court fees.
In an unrelated matter, Hueneman pleaded guilty on December 29, 2015, to fifth-degree criminal mischief, in a plea deal after being charged with aggravated misdemeanor third-degree criminal mischief by the Hancock county sheriff’s office. He was ordered to pay $2,772.75 in fines, court costs and restitution.
