Charles City fire causes families to lose homes

fireCHARLES CITY – Several families are in need of assistance in Charles City after a fire swept through an apartment house there Monday.

The fire was reported at about 2:30 PM Monday at an apartment house at 2104 Clarkview Drive. Heavy fire and smoke was discovered by responding firefighters and the building was evacuated.  No injuries were reported in this incident.

It has been reported that as many as 10 families were displaced due to this fire. The Charles City police department reports that Up To Date Fashions, located at 209 North Main Street, “has graciously volunteered to accept clothes donations for the victims from the fire”. Their hours at 1:30- 5:00 PM. Police said not to drop off donations unless there is someone at the store. Also, KCHA Radio is accepting donations for those affected by the fire Donations can be brought to the KCHA studios located at 207 North Main Street in between 8am and 5pm. Tragically, just this past November, a man lost his life in a fire in a nearby apartment in building 2102.

Is there a place to donate items in Mason City?

Did I hear that this was the 4th fire there is 60 days? What the hell are they cooking besides METH? Something smells a little fishy to me, oh my Im stupid they are smoking fish. Sorry
