Bell Labs, a part of AT&T invented the transistor in 1947. Fairchild brought us the first integrated circuit chip in 1959. Many more inventions came from American researchers. But it was the Japanese who packaged it, and brought it to consumers. U.S. companies were still using tubes or crude solid state parts to make radios while Japan was making smaller cheaper products by the late 1960’s.
Why? First off, the Japanese Government funded their companies from buildings to machines. Second, they embraced the teachings of a man from Sioux City about process control while Professors here ignored or downplayed it’s precepts.
Fast forward to the 1980’s. David T. Kerns was quoted as saying, his company (Xerox) was getting beaten by competition from Japan who sold machines cheaper than it cost him for materials alone. He explained that the Japanese Government targeted certain industries, and subsidized their companies to not only compete, but dominate.
While Japan was rebuilding from WWII, the industries in the U.S. were not even given any incentive to modernize muck less compete.
For example, most steel mills along Lake Michigan were still making molten iron in WWII era blast furnaces into the 1980’s. The last new blast furnace in the U.S. was Inland Steel #7 at East Chicago, IN; finished in 1979. It was idled in June of this year. But again, Japan subsidized their steel industry to build new facilities and modernize processes. As a matter of fact, so did Germany. That cost the U.S. thousands of good paying steel making jobs in S.E. Chicago and N.W. Indiana alone (16,000 direct jobs between 1979 and 1986. Four major mills; South Works, Interlake, Republic, Joliet Works gone).
All this and more, decades BEFORE Mr. Clinton. In 1993, when Clinton was inaugurated, the horse was not only out of the barn, but in the next country!

You certainly have a lot of data but most of it isn’t pertinent to the discussion. I was a manufacturing engineer for a metal forming press company and was sent all over the world setting up foreign manufacturing businesses. I set them up in Canada, Mexico, South Korea and China. It was all due to Clinton and NAFTA being formed. Instead of investing in American company’s they invested in foreign to take advantage of the lower labor rate. In the Canada business it was the dollar exchange that made it attractive.

I am old enough to remember single income households. The providers supported a family and a roof over their heads.
However, the American consumer was to blame for the rise in real estate prices, because they were willing to pay for it. It was the American consumer who killed local jobs such as at Zenith or Philco. They embraced K-Mart (later Wal Mart). It was the American consumer who drove the price of domestic goods and services sky high with their torts. It was the American consumer who drove the standard of living down in the U.S. by embracing the Japanese Transistor radio and all it’s prodigies made in countries with lesser standards of living.
People now a days benefit from advances in Medicine allowing them to live longer. So it is only natural to increase the retirement age. And older workers still contribute to the economy, including Social Security (not to mention 401k’s, et al).
Now you will not get an argument from me about the Social Security system. Legislators approved of rules that present lower returns of investment on funds (some pension funds get 16.4% of return whilst Social Security a paltry 5.3%). Also the standard is much higher for disability requirements, again with the blessing of Legislators. However, I will beg off on the fact that they allow disability payments for self inflicted causes such as excessive drug or alcohol use.
God in public schools does violate separation of Church and State by any legal argument. And we must uphold our Constitution. Besides, the forsaking of God began not in the schools, but in the homes.
In any examination of the behavior of children, you have to consider the behavior of their parents. For it is in the formative years that the only influence a child has is from those two adults who are charged with their upbringing. Following today’s release of the Inspector General’s report about the FBI’s spying on the 2016 Trump presidential campaign, Attorney General William Barr said the report documents that “FBI officials misled the FISA court,” omitted exculpatory facts, and suppressed information that negated the “reliability of their principal source.” There was “a clear abuse of the FISA process,” said Barr. FISA refers to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and the FISA court that gives permission for federal agents to spy on people it considers are engaged in espionage against the United States or are working on behalf of a foreign power.
