Darlene Mavis Reynolds, 86, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday April 28, 2024 in her Mason City, Iowa home.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 10, 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery, 11495 265th St, Mason City, Iowa, with Mark Doebel officiating.
Darlene was born June 20, 1937, in Owatonna, Minnesota, the daughter of George and Mae (Mahlman) Buss. She attended school in Hampton, Iowa. Darlene spent a majority of her life in Mason City. Before becoming a mother she worked at Good Shepherd Health Care Center as a cook. On May 29, 1971, Darlene married Richard âDickâ Reynolds together the couple had one son, Michael.
Her main priority was caring for others, especially her husband, son, siblings, nieces and nephews. After the passing of her son and husband Darlene knew that she one day would be reunited with them.
Other than being a compassionate person she was also very stylish and always had an assortment of jewelry on to go with her outfit. When given the opportunity Darlene liked going out to eat, especially to eat Chinese or Italian food. In her later years she often colored coloring books in her free time.
Those left to cherish memories of Darlene are her sisters, Delores (Dean) Gamble, Garner, IA, Janice (Russ) Hershey, Hampton, IA, Marilyn (Don) Ellis, Mason City, IA; Joyce (John) Hornyak, Manly, IA, Barbara (Dennis) Rodgers, Phoenix, AZ, Suzann (Clifford) Jacobson, Luzerne, IA, and Marie Buss, Hampton, IA: brother, Wayne (Sue) Buss, Denver, IA; as well as countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; her son, Michael Reynolds; as well as both sets of parents; brothers, Gene, Dean & Roger Buss; sister-in-law, Barbara Buss; and brothers-in-laws, Duane Reynolds and Odean Reynolds.
