Sherrill D. Kline, 82 of Mason City passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Good Shepherd Health Care Center, Mason City.

Sherrill D. Kline, 82 of Mason City passed away peacefully Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Good Shepherd Health Care Center, Mason City.

Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and she will be laid to rest with her husband, Edward at Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City.

Sherrill Dorothy was born February 24, 1942 in Iowa City the daughter of Hartzel Harold and Lucille (Miller) McAtee. At a young age she was adopted by Maurice and Frances (O’Donell) Monahan who loved her as their own. She grew up in the Mason City area, graduating from Holy Family Catholic High School. On August 20, 1960 Sherrill was united in marriage to Edward D. “Eddie” Kline in Mason City, together they would be blessed with four children, Edward “Bob”, D.J., Angel, and Adam. For thirty years Sherrill worked at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City as a nurse’s aide until her retirement in 2005.

She was a longtime member of Epiphany Parish – Holy Family Catholic Church.

Sherrill’s love knew no bounds. A skilled seamstress, she enjoyed sewing and creating pieces to share with others. Whether she was cheering on her kids at wrestling meets or baseball games or strolling through nature trails with her family, her joy was infectious. With a determined spirit and an independent soul, Sherrill was the perfect counterpart to her husband Eddie. Above all, her love for her family was unwavering.

She is survived by her children, Bob (Maura) Kline of California, DJ (Sue) Kline of Clear Lake, Angel (Michael) Mejia of Colorado, and Adam Kline of Mason City; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister, Uva Mae Klein; cherished cousin, Duane Mc Atee; as well as extended family members and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Eddie; all of her parents; sister, Ginny; brothers, Raymond, Patrick, Raymond and Dean; as well as all of her grandparents.
