MILLS COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa woman was taken by ambulance to a hospital and a Nebraska man was killed when their vehicles collided head-on in Mills county, Iowa, late Friday night.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the accident took place Friday, May 3, 2024. At 11:09 PM near mile marker 1 on Highway 34, 39-year-old Jacob Otto Saxer of Bellevue, Nebraska, was riding his 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound in the eastbound lanes oh Highway 34. At the same time and location, 25-year-old Leeva Unique Kitchens of Sidney, Iowa, was driving her 2019 Kia Niro eastbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 34. The motorcycle and the Kia collided head-on.
As a result of the collision, Saxer was pronounced deceased at the scene. Kitchens was transported by ground ambulance to a Bellevue hospital with undisclosed injuries.
