CHARLES CITY – A former Sioux City man and convicted felon now living in Charles City has been charged with felony domestic abuse assault.
Charles City police were called to the 600 block of North Grand Avenue on June 15 just before 10 PM to investigate a disturbance. Upon arrival, police determined that a domestic assault had taken place and arrested 37-year-old Jessie Tweedy on charges of felony D domestic abuse assault and simple assault. He remains jailed at this time as he awaits a court date.
Tweedy has been charged with numerous felonies out of Woodbury county prior to his time in Charles City, including forgery for using stolen credit cards and assault. In 2013, Tweedy was charged in Woodbury county with felony third offense domestic abuse assault and took a plea deal to second offense domestic abuse assault.
Just a few weeks ago, Tweedy said via social media that a man might face some assault-style punishment.
“Lastnight i had a dude named larry and his kids at my house and insteada this dude watching his kids they pulled out my Parakeets tail feathers,” Tweedy wrote on May 30. “I didnt notice it until they left so i called larry and he wont take responsibility. Im not gonna lie im pissed at this dude. I told him ither pay the vet bill or imma knock your head off.”
wonder if Sioux City bought him a bus ticket to Charles city to get rid of him
