Mason City man pleads guilty to violating sex offender registry

MASON CITY – A Mason City man convicted of violent domestic assault and indecent exposure pled guilty to violating the Iowa Sex Offender Registry.

Lane Edward Factor, age 58, was arrested at about 2:44 PM on April 19th by Mason City police at his home at 510 South Illinois Avenue for violation of the sex offender registry.

On June 30th, Factor pled guilty and was sentenced to one year in jail with all but 60 days suspended, placed on two years probation, fined $625 plus a 35% surcharge, and $348.00 in costs.

Factor was convicted in 2012 of indecent exposure; his victim was a female between the age of 14-17.

  2. This guy has a long history as a pervert but he is harmless. A weirdo,yes. But no threat to society.
    He is contained in his own hell. Mr. 2old2fat wants to be slim should remember the axiom that those who criticize others are often afraid of those traits in themselves. By the way, don’t you understand the purpose of a spell checker?
