Osage sex offender pleads not guilty to felony assault and burglary

OSAGE – A convicted sex offender has pled not guilty to two felony charges after an investigation conducted by the Osage police department.

Investigation and interviews by Osage police pertaining to an assault that occurred on June 10th led officers to charge Dewayne Alan Bethke, age 48 of Osage, with failure to comply with exclusion zone-sex offender registry, a class C felony. Record show the alleged victim is a child, who suffered minor injuries.

On June 11th, 2014, a subject reported a burglary of several items from their residence that were then recovered at 314 Oak Street. Investigation by the officers resulted in charging Bethke with Burglary 3rd Degree, a Class D Felony.

On Friday, June 21, Bethke pled not guilty to both charges. A trial is scheduled for August 20th.
