CORALVILLE – A busy stretch of Interstate 80 saw another traffic pile-up Sunday, this time with one dead and several injured.
An Iowa State Patrol report stated that compact car was westbound on Interstate 80 near the 239 mile marker Sunday at about 2 PM when the driver lost control and struck a wall along the roadway. The vehicle came to rest in the travelled portion of the rad, where it was then struck by other vehicles.
One un-named person was killed – 19-year-old Sambatu A. Ibit of Des Moines – and at least 5 others injured.
The incident remains under investigation.
