MASON CITY – Shawn Dietz has won the Republican primary for District 27 in the Iowa Senate and will face Amanda Ragan, a Democrat, in the fall election.
Dietz, a former mayor of Hampton, won the nomination with 1,938 votes. His opponent, Timothy Junker of Allison, had 1,208 votes. Ragan had no challenger for the Democratic nomination.
I’m looking forward to muffler legislation… Whoever promises me quiet mufflers has my vote.

My experiences with Shawn Dietz have been positive. I can also tell you he’s a man of his word and has done what he said he was going to do. Shawn will make a terrific District 27 State Senator and I’m happy to see such a huge number of other people thought the same thing. If you are ready to be represented by a person who’s word you can trust and who will defend your rights and watch out for your pocketbook, then Shawn Dietz can use your support and votes this November.
I’m for voting for him if he truly will stop this spending spree.
She is a lock step liberal. They all need to go!! She comes from the same school of thought as the local superintendent. Well, the government program isn’t working, but it’s just because we need more money. They get more money and a year later. Well, if we could invest more in our children everything would be better. I am pretty sure that Amanda Ragan cannot be beat. She has done so much for everyone==all parties.
We still need someone to work on the proper formulas for education spending. It is ridiculous for a governor who is campaigning on his educational expertise and shorts the school districts, so we have to fight and scratch, cause ill will and bad feelings in the communities… Jack Hatch for G and Amanda for S….
She does nothing except for the schools. They don’t need any more. All they do is spend, spend, spend just like she does.

Personally I think that any politician is a liar, some are just better at it than others. BUT the democratic party are especially good at it because they have the destruction of the American way of life as the ultimate goal.
